Good people. Good jobs: Queensland Workforce Strategy 2022–2032 is connecting Queenslanders with the work they want, supporting employers to develop inclusive work practices and growing a stronger and more diverse workforce.

 

Queensland employers are able to access a range of workforce related support thanks to the Queensland Workforce Strategy.

 

Help us to spread the word and encourage businesses across the state to learn more about the strategy and the support available.

 

This kit provides a range of communication and social media tools that can used or adapted to provide information on the Queensland Workforce Strategy and the support available for employers, employees and industry.

Through the Queensland Workforce Strategy 2022–2032 employers are able to access a range of workforce related support.

 

Include information about the strategy in your internal and external communications to encourage employers and business owners to learn more and access information, initiatives and funding that will connect them with potential employees.

Queensland Workforce Strategy providing practical support for employers

 

Queensland employers are able to access a range of workforce related support thanks to the Queensland Workforce Strategy 2022–2032.

 

Small to medium businesses can reach out to an Industry Workforce Advisor to help identify workforce solutions, develop a workforce plan, identifying recruitment strategies to expand applicant pools or connecting with available support, including government programs and funding.

 

Through the Workforce Connect Fund, small businesses can apply for a Human Resources (HR) Support Grant of up to $5,000 (subject to available funding) to implement new and innovative HR solutions to address an immediate need.

 

Employers can also have a one-on-one session with business mentors through the Mentoring for Growth program to discuss options and ideas to solve workforce challenges or other business issues.

 

Other initiatives available assisting employers in attracting and retaining workers include the Diverse Queensland Workforce program to connect employers with local migrants, refugees and international students looking for work and the Back to Work program which provides eligible employers with a range of financial and non-financial support when employing and retaining an eligible jobseeker through the program.

Queensland Workforce Strategy providing practical support for employers

 

Queensland employers are able to access a range of workforce related support thanks to the Queensland Workforce Strategy 2022–2032.

 

The strategy includes $70 million for new and expanded initiatives that build upon the extensive suite of existing government support for Queensland's workforce.

 

Small to medium businesses can reach out to an Industry Workforce Advisor in their industry or related industry to help identify solutions to their specific workforce challenges. The advisors can assist to develop a workforce plan or connect with available support, including government programs and funding.

 

Through the Workforce Connect Fund, employers will benefit from a range of industry and community-led projects to address attraction, retention and participation issues within specific industries. Through the fund, small businesses with an immediate human resources (HR) need can also apply for a HR Support Grant of up to $5,000 (subject to available funding) to implement new and innovative HR solutions. 

 

Employers can also have a one-on-one session with business mentors through the Mentoring for Growth program to get options and ideas to solve workforce challenges or other business issues.

 

Other QWS programs available to Queensland employers to assist in attracting and retaining workers include the Diverse Queensland Workforce program which can connect employers with local migrants, refugees and international students looking for work.

 

The Back to Work program also provides eligible Queensland employers with a range of financial and non-financial support when employing and retaining an eligible jobseeker through the program.

 

A Queensland Vocational Education and Training (VET) Strategy is also under development to ensure our VET sector is focused on providing priority skills in traditional and emerging industries and delivering the best outcomes for individuals, employers and communities.
