Indigenous Business Month
Indigenous Business Month 2023 shines a light on the growing number of successful Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned businesses across Australia.
The Queensland Government supports Indigenous Business Month and recognises the power of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s contribution to Queensland’s economy, showcasing the powerhouse businesses employing, creating, disrupting and getting on with business across the state.
Gathering is at the heart of building relationships, and this year’s national theme To Gather, Together calls upon First Nations businesses to gather, share and celebrate the power of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s contribution. The theme aims to inspire the next generation of First Nations business leaders and allies to act today, increasing demand for First Nations goods and services.
Queensland’s strong and diverse First Nations’ business sector is critical to local, regional and the State economies; the employment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and self-determination.
Through collaborative partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned businesses and industry stakeholders, Queensland continues to drive the growth of the sector and demand for goods and services from First Nations peoples.
