The new Queensland Small Business Strategy 2024-27 will build a thriving, resilient small business sector supporting local jobs and contributing to a strong economy in Queensland.
The Strategy is focused on providing more support to Queensland small businesses. During extensive consultation, the sector identified rising business costs, finding workers, developing crucial business skills, accessing procurement opportunities, and navigating government information as the key focus areas for Queensland small businesses.
Delivering a range of actions over three years, the Strategy is designed to lower operating costs as well as increase opportunities, build business resilience and capability and grow diversity in the sector.
With Queensland’s economy on an exciting new wave of growth, the Strategy will also help small businesses to seize the procurement and supply chain opportunities available from the Queensland Government’s Big Build program over the next four years.
You can read all the strategy details and discover how small businesses can benefit at www.qld.gov.au/small-business-strategy.

Learn how the Queensland Small Business Strategy 2024–27 is delivering across the state.
Regions:
A key focus of the Strategy is to support small businesses to access the opportunities presented by Queensland’s Big Build – delivering the biggest decade of infrastructure in Queensland’s history.
More than 40 per cent of Queensland’s small businesses drive the industries of construction; rental hiring and real estate; and professional, scientific, and technical services, making them vital to the delivery of the Big Build program.
And while small businesses in electrical, plumbing, manufacturing and construction are needed to get the infrastructure up and running, the flow-on benefits to other local small business providers of goods and services will be considerable.
There’s never been a greater opportunity for our small businesses to share in growth and prosperity on offer.
